Boom Crash and that's that

Today I awoke to the sounds of booming thunder, and lightning. Knowing it is only a matter of time that the youngest of children would arrive next to me I started my day in prayer. Oddly enough I made it through my shower before that actually happened. Though it distracted me from my devotion time it was a sweet entrance. I, sitting in my chair in a dimly lit room about to read, am suddenly aware of little curly q girl scampering about. She readily climbs into my open arms and we rock/cuddle. These moments are so bitter sweet since it takes me back to baby rocking days. Wow, how time sure flies and they grow up. While still in my lap she recounts her morning for me, the way she was crying for big bro (Bubba to her) to let her sleep with him. Also, my favorite part, once they snuggled back in together she "hugged Jesus". Melt my heart right there!
Youngest son and I have something special I cannot quite explain and yet I get distracted with everyday life and forget on a regular basis. Today I felt led to leave sweet nothings for the kids, well cousin C and the middle two. While spying in his desk for some paper (he was at lunch) I opened his writing notebook. Here is just a small sample of what I found. Nearly every page involved something him and I have done or will do. It also described things I like or don't like too. Knowing him I can safely bet he will cherish this notebook for some time, almost as much as I will do the same!

Ever since Aunt Lisa's wedding my youngest has a sudden interest in doing hair and makeup. The hair is not truly new, but the makeup yes. Since big sis was in the wedding party she was privy to being in the ready room. Aunt Lisa had a cousin of her daughters there doing both hair and makeup. Adoring all things involving this special Aunt MUST be amazing! Notice to the right where hopefully you can see my zombie eyes and pink lips :) I have zero words to explain why she made the silly face.

Oldest son, well he seems to be full of advice and words of wisdom most days. This morning when A called hubby Daddy he informed her that when she is 12 she will no longer call him that but Dad instead. A quipped back that she will NOT do such a thing. Ah yes, a true daddy's girl at heart.

Last but not least, I adore that my oldest daughter returned the kindness by leaving me a note at school too...
