Big Sister strikes again
To make any good weekend all it usually takes is my family at home, food in the house, and rested kids. Rested kids are the sometimes iffy part:)
Yesterday afternoon, once the house was clean, clean clothes were put in their prospective places, etc my hubby and I sat down to just watch, or play with the kids. Number 2, big sister, says to Number 3, "Let's put on a play." He says OK and they head downstairs to her room to "practice". A minuscule amount of time goes by and they both appear at the top of the steps. Except there is a surprise. Yes, as the pic shows my son is wearing a dress. He runs to me and says, "Pretend this is a boy outfit." I smile because next to me my husband is nearly having a stroke:) He tries his best not to react, which I have to say I am eternally grateful. They make performance attempt 1, not so good. I suggest it needs to be short, and well-rehearsed (words an article in Wondertime Magazine used). Downstairs they go again, and one more time they appear at the top of the steps with my dear son in yet a different dance outfit. By this time my father has made his way over and is not quite as savvy with his remarks. They tease that his prom date might not like his clothing choice. He pays a minor amount of attention to the "boys". Number 1 jumps in and says, "Yeah, I won't wear that." Of course, unlike 4-year-old Number 3, he is 9. By the 5 attempt Number 3 is losing interest and the "skit" is losing purpose. I suggest Number 1 joins with his Star Wars outfit. He jumps at this chance, Number 3 gives up and gets dressed. My husband breathes a sigh of relief. Girly stuff for boys is over for now......
Also last night, I worked at my part-time job which kept me out until nearly 3am. Thank goodness my hubby responded at 5:30 when the baby was crying. She ended up going back to sleep until 8:30 for me. My 3 other children headed to the "neighbors" (my parents) to have breakfast which let me actually sleep late. Thank God for small miracles. We get up, eat breakfast, and clean up the little that needs it. Hallelujah, I get to just relax the rest of the day. An even greater blessing, Number 2 says, "Mommy when Eva needs a diaper change, if it is just pee, I can do it for you." Sure I say, thrilled. True to her word she took her in her room and did just that. I looked on and gave a few pointers to ensure the diaper actually stayed on, but mission accomplished. Just now as I was uploading the pic she even helped with the poopy diaper. I think I am going to have to up that girl's allowance, LOL. Yes, this is how people manage to have lots of kids. 4 and no more is getting better and better.
