Toddler world here we come...
It is funny to me how each and every one of my 4 children have adapted to new skills differently. It is so very true that once you have been through it does not mean you know it all. The older I get the more I realize that having more kids makes you more seasoned with a larger idea book. Eva has put me through no binky which I never really believed was true, and no bottle only milk from Momma EVER. I have been safe from the climbing out of the crib routine though she is 20 months there is still time, LOL. Eva's new skill is opening the fridge. This in itself is not anything magical or over the top. But it is frustrating!!
I had to call a service man for this fridge some months ago because it wasn't working correctly only to find out that it was simply condensation freezing over and blocking air flow due to the door being open too much. No suprise there are 6 people here on a daily basis and up to 8 often the large majority children. He showed me how to fix it, spent 5 minutes at my house and 70.00 later headed on his way.
Tonight it was hard to be mad at her for doing just that because she was so darn cute. During book/Bible reading time she kept going in to get grapes. She would bring a cluster to me smiling and proud but leaving the door open. I would tell her to close it, not wanting to get up 100 times only for her to do it again. When she had eaten all the grapes she started saying all done over and over which was not the first time but has never made it seem like a regular part of her vocab until now then moved on to a getting a green apple. On her way back to the living room she said cheese as she popped her head around the corner and smiled. I guess I take too many pictures
She bit that thing about 20 times before Annabeth started it for her. As everyone made their way to their rooms she took it with her. Some nights this means I put her down first, and then on to the other kids. Tonight the little sneaker headed with Annabeth. She was sitting all big girl like under her sisters covers reading a book together when I made my way there, still munching on that apple.
I guess this was the pay back I needed for being so frustrated with the kids today and contemplating running away, LOL. Just kidding I think the furthest I would get is the mailbox.
