#4 has taken to telling whomever she is with that another person said so. Tonight at dinner when she was being trouble and climbing out of her high chair to "visit" me I informed her she would be in trouble if she didn't stop. Of course she did not so we headed to the restroom. When we got there she told me, "If you spank me Daddy will be mad at you!" Now how in the world was I supposed to not crack up?

Also at dinner the Chinese calendar which sits as a place mat was a topic of interest. This is not the first time they have seen it, but always feels like it to the 3 big kids. For the first time we went through each and every family member, even some friends like Amy were discussed from #3. #1 who seems to turn EVERYTHING into a competition was desperately trying to find someone ANYONE in our family and then branching out to friends who was the same as him. It was to no avail. This is the same child who was sad about G missing grandparents day not because of G himself but because he would have been the person with the most grandparents.

The last funny part at dinner was when Michael asked what the picture of a rooster was. Silly me read what was written and said cock. The children each began to repeat the word despite Mike and I smiling to each other, and Daddy saying its a rooster guys. Ummm yeah great, I can see my children will say that word sometime in the future unaware of the slang interpretation. Nice one Mom!

Saturday as I layed #4 down to nap she was excited about the party ahead. She said Aunt Lisa come see me and I told her no. She then said, "Uncle John come and say Boo, I tell him get away from me." That is exactly what she does too. Hilarious the things kid say. She told me a story about how she couldn't do something because she would fall, get hurt start bleeding and need a bandaid. Holy cow, her mind is growing up so darn fast! I lost my baby a long time ago and it is so bittersweet!

Knock knock jokes are a popular time waster in the car. I will not deny getting very tired of them too. But since Daddy has been at the fire station for 4 days out of the last 6 he has quickly forgotten this entertainment. #2 has a good one that involves umm and umm who, you didn't answer the question. #3 and #4 like to tell them but the mess it up into crazy stuff. #3 also asked why did the cow cross the road and his answer was because it wanted a fly. What do you say to that?

Last but not least at family prayer time Daddy started, I continued and then #4. She prayed for each individual she could name to be good, the people's to be good and Aunt Lisa come play with her. #1 prayed for the child who caused the trouble on the bus, and #3 again prayed for his breath to be good (his asthma I think). At the very end of his prayer he added that he hope Ma-Ma was having a great time in heaven. I am so glad Daddy got to hear that. Tears welled up in my eyes.
I got to dance with my daughters just as I said goodnight, read the comics with my oldest and snuggle with my littlest man. #4 instructed me to rock with her chatting up a storm about it being dark outside and that is nighttime. I really am the luckiest girl in the world!

  1. Aww thank you to #3 for keeping me in his thoughts and bringing me up at family dinner! Please tell him that remark made me smile! Love all of #4's antics. She is a funny, smart little girl. How sweet that #1 prayed for the troubled boy from the bus. And oh my goodness #3 and his prayer for Ma-Ma is precious beyond words. Hugs all around! <3 Me
