So not into you this year! vday rant

Any of you ever watch Gilmore Girls? Well I am a fan, own the whole series on DVD and watch reruns as often as I can. If you watch it you will know that she ( Lauren Graham's character) loves snow about as much as I love Vday. I love hearts, flowers specifically roses, candy of course and fairy tale like love stories. I love the smile you can put on some one's face when you share love with them be it friend or child. I am a romantic at heart yet have rarely ever dated a man that felt the same but that is another story. My dear husband means well in his head but far from a hopeless romantic is terribly true.
Anyway, this year from a series of unrelated circumstances most of which small things I feel far from lovey today. In fact it feels like just another Monday with the work of doing my predictable gifts mostly done. I am forcing myself to make heart things for my expecting children but other than that I am over it. So over it! I don't want to attend my children's parties, or finish the goody bags I have made for them. I want to pretend this day isn't today and is over. Then I am so sad that I feel this way too. I don't want others to steal my joy for what I love but well here I sit.
This bit of my favorite show speaks volumes about my changing emotions for what once was my fav day. Take a moment to re watch or enjoy for the first time. I am certain most of us living in my area appreciate the disdain for snow at the moment.

Hope it made you laugh a bit, and hope your Vday inspires you more than mine:)
I will say my hubby is trying to be sweet even while at work so maybe like this episode it will all come back around tonight. If you can't remember that here's another clip;) See its still in me somewhere....

  1. Sorry to hear you and cupid are on the outs. Hope the day got better. Thanks for sharing the GG clips. Reminds me of so many great times we shared watching the show or talking about the show together.
