Some days I really do get it right!
Praise God that today I was not only able to roll with the ups and down but keep a great attitude in the midst of it! It did help that hubby picked up his fair share all on his own for sure!
Another smile was the girly snuggles. Littlest has really made a genuine attempt at not being alone at night. She managed her first sleepover with sister and since then has been up and down ALL night. Thank goodness for my teacher mind which is devising systems constantly. Thanks to a sticker chart and the motivation of special time away from home with mommy to get her to stop that one. She does expect hush little Eva to be sung with a new added line at the end. I usually sing You'll still be the sweetest Evangelene in town where she says her school is town. Now I must sing the actual word school in town. I guess she missed the memo that the word are supposed to rhyme??
Earlier in the day was the most public laugh of the day. When dropping off #3 he informed me he has to head to the office first to get his badge as he is hall monitor. Those of you on FB saw my pic but the certificate that they sent home is way better. I will scan it tomorrow so check back. He was very clear about what things he would stop people for reminders too. Not only that but when he wouldn't stop jabbering to me about the diggers he is gonna drive and all the places he will go I realized my boys aren't so so different after all.
Last but not least I flash back to the past. My fireball of a girl wraps up all the milestones from the 4 in one. As she flies from stage to stage I hang on to what has been past and enjoy where we are at so much more!
Wednesdays are now another one of several days when I change hats more than I will change clothes in a day. By that I means I start my day as babysitter to a little girl I lovingly call my hitchhiker cause she eats breakfast and rides to school with us. Then one by one my children wake up adding the momma role until off to school they each go. From there I become preschool coordinator going between the two churches I am responsible in planning, preparing and setting up lessons. Next I head to my other job where I am a resource/gifted teacher and first grade teacher. That job is like juggling because I teach soc studies, science and art to one class, gifted to 4 kiddos 2 days a week, remedial work for a K student, spelling groups for 2nd grade and then simply random other things as they come up. Once kids are dismissed I head back out to be parent again. As you can imagine being pulled in 100 different directions certainly can test the patience.
Today though, today I never rose my voice and quietly nudged my husband as he started to himself.
The best part is this..... apparently when you are not worrying about the exact tasks that get done but the overall picture you can appreciate the little stuff that much more. Well and the little annoying things ie knocking over one bike in the garage causing a domino effect to the other 10 bikes seem like no big deal instead of an underlying tone of difficulty. Yep, tonight I cracked up when my oldest son called this a "good cup of joe". He does this many nights and some mornings all mumbling the same phrase. That kid makes me bag my head against the wall some days reaching him where he is at but then he does some other stuff like this that are just priceless!Another smile was the girly snuggles.
