Lost and found

Around my house things tend to pop up missing from time to time. Mostly this happens because kids are oblivious to the idea that one must put their treasures away. Yet in the last 6 months I have to give credit where credit is due, #4! She idolizes her big sister and adores all that is hers believing that any of it is there for the taking. Well, the taking and the hiding is more like it.
Needless to say I think we are to the point that big sis' Ipodtouch can only be charged under the cover of bedtime from this search and rescue mission on..... UGH!
Now what seems to turn up during these search parties will never cease to amaze me. If you know me and have been to my house then you know I am pretty crazy about keeping clean. I regularly make my kids vacuum the couches, clean under them and their beds too. BUT well #3 has gotten out of hand with his hidden "clean ups". He is defintely my stuff it all in the closet and pray it stays shut kid. After staying home sick Monday and being full of a second wind I requested him to clean his room. This included the pile of things from his last clean up that were missed in the center of the room. I evaluated his closet for remains and it passed my inspection, but what I didn't check was under his bed. I mean daily I kick out the items that end up just under the covers but way deep in the back corners of the bed there were living things lurking. As in things that make you jump out of your skin and screech when you touch them.
Yep, full body shimmied itself as far as I could reasonably go to shift items against the wall towards an exit. Using a stick made of legos I reached and pulled several piles of cars, trash, silverware and toys in my direction. Scooting backwards I continued to move these items along with me until I was nearly out. Grasping with my entire hand I went to pick it all up in one swift motion ending this exercise. But when I did I felt tiny legs touching me and envisioning some monsterous spider I screamed, bumped my head and slithered out of the cave that trapped me. Now laughing at the 2 youngest children perched near my exit with such concerned faces I forced myself to reach yet again and retireve them into the awareness of light. On the floor (because you know I dropped the unknown as soon as I could), I discovered a wad of crusty, month old at least sphagetti and meat. Can I get an ewwwwwwwww up in hear?!
Yes, it sure is time for Momma to lay the smack down on thief and sneak!! The attempt at controlling his undesriables and littlest urges to make her own choices stops right now. Washing hands did commence, a few more randoms were located under my bed too but well the creavices will get cleaned very, very soon and certainly the Ipodtouch will be added to the found list too.

Let me end with a song cause well, that is just how I roll (relating life to music anyway). Plus it appears this new favorite artist of mine and #2 will be coming to St. Lou and I have theeby found my answer to the question what special event shall I make a memory with my niece and daughter. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9 and guess who happens to be off work this Friday to shop... ding ding ding, you got it ME!
