sneaky x 2
My my my..
my youngest kiddos seem to be up to trouble. What is even more interesting to me than a preschooler who is resourceful is that my oldest son didn't do his phase until so much later than the others. After having survived a lie first be honest later phase from one I can smile and deal with ease. That is until #4 ups the anty like she is known to do. Then and only then will I begin to pull hair out.
#4 adapts to the ever changing intelligence of those around her. She used to be easy to find and then she began understanding true hiding. Recently all you had to do was look behind the love seat for a makeshift bed of stolen fun. You know, sleeping bag or blanket including pillows with treats and electronics for her pure enjoyment. Another place is behind the recliner in my bedroom. There have been many times that she seemed lost or outside when in fact the chair would sing, play music etc. Today it netted the answer to our missing flashlight.
But #3 he surprised me. I mean he has been the most real world experienced from the get go. At a younger age I mistook that for giftedness when it really is his level of common sense. I was texting back and forth regarding Christmas gifts and therefore had my cell phone in my loose jacket pocket. When saying goodnight I snuggled with him in bed. Then I left and made my way to the other two downstairs just like every other night. Except this night my phone didn't make the entire trek. When setting things up for bed like normal I noticed the item missing and scoured the living room for it. Hubby called it several times and neither of us could even hear it. On a hunch I took the flashlight into his room to be sure. There he was lying the opposite way on top of his covers. Odd as that was I continued. His eyes opened and he inquired my purpose. Shifting covers while speaking I found nothing and began to exit. He stopped me and said, "Wait. Did you look in there?", pointing to his nightstand drawer. Why I would look there I do not know but I did. There it was on top of all things as if I set it there for safe keeping myself. I smiled at him, kissed his head and left. I figure he stressed enough about my entrance that I would leave him to ponder himself. Chuckling I shared this encounter with hubby. My, my little man, I suppose I need to stay on top of him!
As for my fireball, well she has taken to a new system. While I was finding my phone hubby was retrieving her hidden stash. Under the sink in the bathroom is her newest spot. Earlier this week there were pretzels and can cheese for dipping, open of course. Today, pink animal shaped cookies and tortilla chips. Tomorrow who really knows what she'll do next. All I know is I am rising along with her, toe to toe we go. That and I am beyond certain that she is my last baby. 4 and no more is quite enough for us!
