My oldest son is complicated and wonderful all wrapped up in one. This is not the first time I type that he doesn't fit between the lines and causes me to scratch my head in dealing with him. I am sorry to admit I too often have been harsh or jumped the gun in disciplining but this is the sad story for the oldest. Firstborn kids pave the way for the rest. Here in the picture he can be seem seeking a specific egg, he was dilligent and determined to not only get candy but more. I love his drive when it matters to him. If only I can put my finger on the magic to get him to do this for everything else that isn't easy or fun.
#1 informed me tonight of the revised cost to recieve his master black belt status in Tae Kwon Do. Originally he believed it would be in 2014, but deeper investigation proved that was a bit off. I figured as much really. Needless he has been pretty caught up with cost. There are several levels before master that are a large amount to a child or parent. Yet during the bedtime quiet moment he finally seemed to get my point. God is bigger than a "large" amount of money and will provide if he simply puts his faith in it. Hearing him speak not those exact words but in a positive tone of possibility was exciting. Not only that but he expanded to say that after achieving such status he could then open his own place. He would start small with a few kids and then grow to be large. I would have never guessed him thinking about going a direction like this but more power to him.
His weather obsession seemed like meteorology was the way to go. He has even stated he was going to be a weather man. Often it ended in the punch line of the masses, "It's the only job where you get paid to be right." But you get the point. I really have no idea what he will end up doing, but witnessing the road to his purpose has some pretty amazing high points that is for sure!
