Thursday tidbits

Take 2 as apparently using the control key instead of shift and hitting another button can and will delete everything you have typed :(
Here are some outtakes from this week.

#1 had a grand day on Tuesday. He bounced to me at parent pickup oozing pleasantries and positive thinking. Considering the tendency to think bad first I was a happy momma! He said he finally got someone out at kickball. Not just someone but the "best or maybe it was fastest" player. On top of ALL that, he himself got a home run. As the child chosen last or not allowed to play at recess this was HUGE stuff. Yeah for a moment in self confidence.
Then I have an outtake from him, surprise, surprise. Tonight while discussing where he and Daddy would go for some special time (all other kids got to do something sans siblings recently) he determined what he anticipated. " A fancy restaurant is where I want to go." He spouted out. Unsure what that meant to a child whom as far as I can remember, never truly went to one I asked what it would look like. Continuing, "It would look like rich people own it, with chandeliers and tons of butlers." What kind of food would they serve you and I ask, "Chicken tenders, mac and cheese, pizza a buffet really." Oh well sure cause that is definitely what fancy places serve. LOVED it!!
#2 had her own shining moment once again sealing her nickname, to me at least, of All American Girl. At school this week and possibly last they have been completing the presidential fitness test. She not only surpassed her grade level expectations but all the other kids in her class. She completed 24 consecutive push ups, more than even the boys in her class. I attribute it partly to her dedication to success on the monkey bars. Her hands are covered in blisters to prove this determination. To top that she achieved a 100% on her practice test AND actual math test in class. This was another feat no one else attained. By doing so she was given much time of verbal affirmation in class. Her teacher using her as an example of behavior to model, using terms such as attentive. Props to my baby girl for earning teacher's pet less than 3 weeks into the school year, lol.
#3 hasn't really had much to discuss. He has hovered under the radar wavering between big, grown up boy and babyland. I miss him, it really does feel like he is slipping away between being gone all day and the fast paced evenings. Next week is hip hop and tumbling class so definitely should be something to share there.
#4 had her own accomplishments too. This week she proved her advancing skills in driving the motorized gator/jeep and tractor. Steering was a bit of a struggle (after all she is only 2), but this week it is starting to click. She understands to turn the wheel either direction as the rode turns, AND to take her foot off the pedal when she needs to stop. My garage wall much appreciates that lesson. Hopefully today's horse lesson on "steering" Foxy and Rose will strengthen such knowledge in horses and vehicles.
Part 2 of her learning was the use of behind. She told me her bib was behind her back, which is literally was, in between her body and the booster seat. If only she would learn which color is which instead of all these other words beyond her age expectations.
Last funny thing for her was tonight's conversation. Her friend and first love AA moved away what has basically been a month ago. She rarely speaks of him anymore but when she does it is to tell me about something he did when he was here. Tonight though it seemed more of a make believe interaction, sweet but not so true. Holding a boy pullup exactly like what AA wore she asked if it was his. I attempted to explain no but she would have nothing of it. After several back and forths I agreed it was his, just easier. "AA wear this. AA hug me and say bye bye. AA give me a kiss and go to work." Boisterous giggle like she completely knew this was untrue. "AA go night night to his house. AA love me. I love AA."
Aw I love you too sweet baby girl was my reply.
