Before AND after..repeat

Today feels like my life is one big before and after statement. As in everything I do is to restore the after to the before and then do it again. Normally I LOVE the 6 kids filling my home on these snowy suprise days. But then I have just embraced the #4 and alone time when WHAM another day off. The first week back to school was Tuesday through Friday but then the next was Mon, then Thursday and Friday. This week same again because I am leaning to the kids being home again tomorrow well sans K and C cause their school has no buses and will probably be in session. Here's hoping I am wrong and the plowing works as well as shoveling my driveway did!

The Before will just have to be behind #4 as my inspiration for this post came after I shoveled.

Also imagining the kitchen now clean :) Blogspot was giving me a headache trying to arrange the pics.


 

Love that the girls use all my craft supplies (not shown is the items COVERING the table too). PS Yes I usually make them clean it up but well let's be real and know I would still have to go after them and fix the supplies correctly. Instead I will save their efforts for #2's room which is a sea of creativity and earth shaterring FEMA needed disater!

#4's room which most likely was unassisted by bigger helpers. At this point it is 30 minutes past 2:00 nap and yeah Mommy wants to be done. Oh and yes I did realize my little snot (hehe) was being onry while I took the shot. She insists on climbing in the bed each nap. I am pretty sure it is her way of trying to control the situation. If she really wanted out she would do it. Instead she is playing me to see what I do. Sorry #4 this momma has been around the block several times before and knows when to push me pull you and when to not. I should have included the pic no more than 1 minute later when I exited the room her sweetly lying on her side and snuggled under precious blankie.

Dinner is simmering on the stove, kitchen reclaimed yet a 3rd time today and hubby just walked through the door 20 hours after he left. Hubby think they will in fact have school tomorrow so maybe just maybe I can relax and do something a bit more creative. hehe. Yep I do have something already in mind too:)
Well at least AFTER I enjoy some healthy sweet fruit treats and a soda on the side, lol!

    LOL wow and I thought I was busy yesterday! You def. have this SAHM gig down. you don't even want to see my laundry room. I swear I found another families wardrobe when we were moving and now i have even more clothes to wash/dry/and sort out. That will be my weekend but having my own washer/dryer now instead of having to head to the laundry mat makes me actually look forward to doing all the laundry..lol.
    So I have one question who shoveled the driveway? you or Joey?

    Joey the walk to the front, me the rest. Light fluffy snow or not it was a bit tougher and longer to do than I thought!

6 people live in this house of mine. Most days there is plenty of space for everyone to move about separate of another. The outdoors is 10 acres of mostly wide open space for freedom. The one thing there is not enough of is quiet. #1 can talk your ear off and then some. He continues to read and reread his Titantic book, quizzing his siblings and myself. I really don't understand how Daddy misses out on the quizzes but some things may never be understood. The only way I get quiet is to allow electronics. I will admit that I have done that more than once to ensure a moment or two to think, better yet not think. Ugh!

My husband has this cough, ANNOYING cough which appears to have absolutely no purpose in life. I must endure in silence because I am pretty sure he wouldn't do it if he could help. Yet all I can think of is the last time I tried to be politely quiet which back fired. Stop me if you have heard this story, or well skim ahead. :) I was awaiting the birth of #2. It was night and I was 9 cm dilated. Although this was my 2nd full term child, it was my first real labor with #1 being a breech c-section. The time approached 9pm and the thoughtful well practiced nurses encouraged me to "get some rest" before I was to push. You never know how short or long pushing turns into so I readily agreed (the epidural making it possible to think about relaxing in the first place). All (as in the 4 other people) were kicked out of the room but hubby decided to come back. Valentines, Boys and food

Last night all 3 big kids sat with me on the little couch reading books. One of them was called will you be my valentine. Michael asked what a valentine was and as I was explaining about "boy" friends and boy friends/ girl friends and "girl" friends. Annabeth then says so you and Daddy knew each other when you were kids. I tell her no and she gets confused. She asked some more questions suprised to hear that Daddy wasn't my only boyfriend. She asks if I kissed the other boys and I hestitated but said yes. She asked how old I say when you are 16 you might kiss a boy, HA! Daddy chimes in and says more like 20. All the kids yell at him because he usually does add something to tease with. Annabeth then covers her mouth and says I am NOT going to kiss a boy. Jan 1st 2010 we were heading to eat Chinese.
