Yay and Nay
Snuggle/one on one time at bedtime with kids was met with many special moments. #4 asked me to put my head on her shoulder as I sang Hush Little Evangelene with her and doted kisses, and kind words like any good mini momma would. Laughing with her quite possibly cures all ailments. #3 snuggled like little man always does more concerned about my comfort and well being than his own. We did have to chat about lying/half truth kinda stuff he has come to readily do but that too was a 2 way conversation. #2 snuggles up close and personal as her love language is CLEARLY touch and words of affirmation. She chatted about her friends and boys they like including her own feelings. I love watching her cautious words, pauses in between waiting for me to drop the ball and act too parent like. Instead I know to listen more to insert advice little in this moment. I am after all setting the ground work for teenage years and a comfortable trust for us two. #1 well he sneaked in on every room just itching to be a part of the time. But when I made it to his room he wanted to share the comic book he was reading and laugh with me. I followed suit cause groundwork adolescence style stuff. I am so thrilled that I have not allowed other priorities to make me miss out on this rare moment with each.
Nay for today:
Hubby was sick, fever and all. In my heart I feel like he wasn't ever sick with what we all contracted before Christmas so hopefully this is his delayed sensitivity. We are only 6 days from Disney.
Yay for today:
DISNEY in 6 more days...on a plane even. On a plane! I can hardly believe this is real, we are doing this. Man these kids are gonna be so stoked when it all goes down. I don't think they really even know. Well the for sure don't know the plane part. Totally look for the video on their surprise reaction for sure. I will def catch that one to remember.
Nay for today:
Who knew there was soooooo much to complete before we head out for 7 days. I mean man, I am responsible for a whole lot of stuff. Secondly, why is it that hubby gets to kick back and count down while I make an extensive list to complete. I am certain he doesn't mind nor will I allow myself to martyr this trip. This will be a team effort from packing and beyond. 13 years of marriage has taught us both something about conquering together.
Yay for today:
Littlest jumping up and down saying she will get to see Minnie Mouse and hug her. She can't wait to hug the princesses and be one just like them. The sheer complete joy on her face and in her body is unexplainable. Listening to her make up stories for devotions using words like tasty, timid. I am one proud momma.
Nay for today:
Littlest understanding the loop hole of current strategy for still devotion time. She sits on a carpet square. The first day she asked if she could move her toes while there, LOL. Today though she proceeded to move it about the room, first to hold sissy's hand and then just to move. It can be so darn hard to discipline her when she is just adorable! Her made up story tonight included brothers J and M that got along but sister who went to Heaven. #2 spent half of the time watching my reactions during the read. Then at the end hugged her sister and said, " I don't want to leave you for Heaven yet!". Yes, Yes no Heaven visits for anyone UNLESS we are all being taken up at once please!
You asked "What's your yay for today?"... That's it. As I read your last question, I was able to sit quietly for a moment and think about all of the little blessings from today. Thank you for that moment.
