Dare to be different

My oldest son in his creative unique glory never ceases to amaze me with his outlook on life. He has proven to not match the normal suggestions of dealing and coping with each stage. Most of the time I roll with it fairly well, but there are days.
My middle two (though #3 has a quick wit and common sense out of this world) are right in the mainstream of kids will be kids kinda stuff. But my littlest daughter, and everything about her life has rocked the boat compared to the others. Within in reason I simply tweaked strategies from one to the next until her. She has made me eat my words of disbelief towards other mothers statements. She never took a pacifier, would not use the bottle and more.
Today for the second time and more than likely far from the last she climbed into her crib. Most kids climb out of their crib, but not my daughter. Don't think its because she longs for sleep. Chance are she had just finished helping me put AA to bed and being her in control self was going to do it without me. She cried when I left for just a moment or too and went to sleep. But just in case I'm gonna have Daddy lower the mattress one more step to prevent her figuring out climbing out too. I really would prefer age 3 for the big girl bed. This momma enjoys her naptime and bedtime freedom!

  2. Oh my goodness, putting herself down for a nap by climbing into the crib. She is going to challenge you and help you stretch and grow in more ways than we can imagine, isn't she?
