And it all comes together

Dancing has long since been a favorite pass time in my house. When #1 was a baby and up I would crank the music and carry him around in sways and twirls. Then as he grew bigger he would stand on the coffee table and I would hold his hands doing a bit of our own thing. Years later he would jump around in his own way with me. By that point there were siblings to add in, #2 and #3 following a short time behind. We 3 or 4 enjoyed these Sat morning activities or random fun times. I rotated children in my arms sometimes with more than one at once. I cannot recall that Daddy ever really took part. He doesn't get how to do anything other than these jump skip type couple moves which are too fast for fun anyway. He remained on the couch etc shaking his head like most Daddy's who don't get this type of silliness, waiting until his turn to wrestle. Ya know the more manly kind of dad/kid bonding that he related to as a kid. It was at least a year if not more like 2 or more that #1 stopped taking part. But it was ok I still had 3. In fact we have Aunt Lisa to thank for encouraging such moves at #4's 2nd bday celebration. A family circle with young dancers rotating in and out screaming Go M Dog the entire time showed me he could use to take it a step further. Boys hip hop and tumbling here we come in a less than a month! Tonight for the 2nd night in a row we have been home as a family of 6 with nowhere to be. It has allowed for "hangin" out time. Both nights that time has turned to group dancing with #3 showing us his moves, #2 and cousin K creating a performance that lasted an eternity, and #4 doing the monkey see monkey do too. This will greatly help her in Mommy and me dance class this fall, then tiny tots class in the Spring without me. I included a short clip of some fun from tonight, as well as the original performance where it all started. Of course with all things recording changes what they do a bit but close enough. After random dancing #2 decided she wanted to start a contest. In her contest I was to be the judge and everyone must sing. #1 did his very best to be in the room but not part of the room throughout. First #2 sang an original made up song about the cold winter, with wind blowing breaking the windows. #4 sang next kind of singing Jesus loves me, kinda whispering. #3 tried to sing but was unsure of his skills so he spent most of the time singing and hiding. Lastly, under a huge amount of duress because I held the camera and he did not want evidence of such participation Daddy sang to his daughter. It too was made up but really too silly to even catch the words. Everyone loved that he joined and the judge (I) declared it a 2 way tie for singing title between the girls and dancer winner #3. Whew everyone was ok with that and we had a sing off. Another original song about everyone being happy to win or lose was produced from #2 and she in turn was the grand winner. Yes, I do believe I remember spending time forcing loved one to endure such "performances" myself. I am so glad my daughter has finally found her confidence to do this and hope it carries over to the next school year ahead. In the meantime I don't mind if I excuse myself to purchase tickets to tomorrow's show. #1 has reminded me that this too shall pass and I want to be a part of it however long it lasts!
