Miss you Daddy..kinda

A funny discussion between number 1 and Daddy happened this evening. On the way home from a surprise ice cream treat at Oberweiss the question was asked whether Daddy will be home tomorrow. Since hubby is a firefighter he spends only one whole weekend a month with us, and the rest of the time just one of the two days. This is not the rare weekend therefore he will be working tomorrow. That was discovered after I mentioned having somewhere fun to go after church tomorrow. (Big Truck Day at a local auto museum in the area)
#1 said, "Great!" in a disgusted voice. Dad inquired why he was sad, as the kids seem to care less about him being home at times. #1 says matter of fact like, "Because then Mommy will yell a lot."
Since we are in the car you can hear the contained laughter from both hubby and me as well as my best attempt at shock sound. Wow, I feel like number 1 mom about now. Daddy asks hoping to dig in a bit more I am sure, "So Mommy yells a lot when I'm not home?"
"Well, yes when we are bad," he retorts. Whew, I am redeemed. Daddy says, "Well just don't be bad then." "That won't work because we always do something, and when you are there you at least take a few kids with you sometimes so we get in less trouble" #1 adds. True, I nod. Divide and conquer works best when in public with 4 kids, ESPECIALLY a 2 year old. "But you don't yell very much Daddy so that helps."
Well there ya go, spoken by my oldest. Since by now #2 and #3 were fading from fevers and lack of rest from vacation and late night VBS the subject ended there. Who knows what else would have been determined if they had an option for their 2 cents.
I guess Mom of the year is out then?
LOL..LMBO..out of the mouths of babes huh? I think what our little people fail to register is that we've asked them politely about a hundred times to listen before we blow our tops.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love #1's proclamations!
