Playtime at the Party House

This weekend consisted of so much playtime that it doesn't even seem real. I cannot remember honestly and truly when was the last time we all enjoyed each other this much. Sat morning from about 10am on we were together and happy.I did take #3 for a special mommy son time at Monkey Joe's at naptime.
Here are some highlights:
-#4 decided to play Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego which was my twist on the fiery furnace lesson at church. It is played like duck, duck, goose and she can pronounce the names surprisingly well IF you know what she is saying. This included a chase scene between #2 and myself. It lasted about 10 minutes and we shall say that I am aware my 33 year old body cannot compete with the endless energy of a 7 year old
-doing turn taking trampoline tricks with the 3 younger kids AGAIN makes you feel old when you know better than do a flip, and do a jump splits type action...ouch I need a bit more stretching!
-it is really fun to shoot at targets for every member of the family, though #1 does lose interest fastest
-Daddy with some nudging can be "cool" too, including playing star wars/chase with all the kids even #1's friend. A whisper reminder to say yes more than no when possible for things such as the sprinkler under the trampoline works well!
-imagination games are inspiring, simple "new" toys can spur such games as store/shop which a grown up must not openly watch, but be invisible as they are near for the full effect
-a family that works together stays together. I had a great time first being a "runner" of sorts on the golf cart between pickin up sticks kids, and mower riding Daddy needing water. But then I assisted #1 on push mowing some spots leading in my typical fashion to a bit more on the cleanup. It felt good and after a momentary attitude reminder the moon and stars aligned in young minds
-finally getting every one outside to swing on playset and race Daddy down the slide is rudely interrupted when a swarm of wasps come out from under the slide. When Daddy firmly (nearly yells) everyone step back #1 peels out of sight leaving a dust cloud behind, #4 attempts to return to the scene more times than counted because she doesn't get the danger
-Waking up next to the man I married is pretty nice too, funny how easy and quickly I forget such luxuries because this experience is extremely RARE!
-I came up with the PERFECT Halloween costume for myself and have just the friend who will help me make I am just certain. CAN'T wait to torture my husband by creating one for him too....hahahahahah too bad you all simply must wait :)
Sounds like your cup overfloweth this weekend. So glad for you and the wonderful family time. Can't wait to hear about the Halloween costumes.
