Life is grand isn't it?!

Image
At the Zoo before school began In my house tonight there was blissful chaos. The sounds of individuals who have spent more time away from home than in it filled the air. You know when there is just too much to say to wait for your turn. AFTER carrying in the groceries, starting and finishing a load of wash, loading and turning on dishwasher, #1 taking his shower, preparing the marinade and cutting the chicken for tomorrow's dinner and more I sat on the couch with my crew. I really collapsed on the couch as taking 4 kids to 3 schools, teaching, copying and assisting children,  picking up one of mine, stopping to meet 2 at the bus stop too and waking up the 4th to attend activities I was D O N E done. The great thing about how I have really grown is that there are times I see no humor in the children's antics, BUT there are more times (tonight being one of the later) that I can smile and make a mental note. I attempt to capture for just a millisecond long enough to chronicle ...

A big CRASH she goes

Image
Day 2 in all her dancer/horsie glory Kids are unique creatures unlike us "grownups" in that they bounce back, typically do not hold grudge long and well get banged up a whole bunch along the way inside and outside. When people (me) think of a big family which apparently my 6 member household qualifies us to be described as, people think get tough for #4. I will admit she has had a harder road, although I think #3 has had the hardest. She was formed in the womb tough I think. Up until this week she hadn't had many large scale accidents. A bump here, a bruise or two there but nothing to write home about. The funny thing to me is that I cannot recall a time when the earth shattering memorable BIG stuff happened on my watch. There was #1 and his chin cut requiring an ER trip and the ever so important glue over stitches routine. Next there was #2 and a ambulance ride on G-ma's watch ending in a broken arm. #3 made plenty of hospital/urgent care trips for asthma related...

Foreshadowing for sure!

Being bossy in the back seat While hanging out with G Baby girl offered him a "gummy ball" (gumball) if he would let her play his new fancy phone. Of course when G agreed and wanted his gummyball she asked him if he had any money for her to borrow. WOW! This kid never stops with her wisdom, look out world Evangelene is going to leap over mountains soon. Next less than an hour later I receive another phone call from G. Apparently courtesy of big bro #1's influence #3 is insisting on having his shirt off. It did get hot enough for a heat advisory today so ok sure. #4 wanted to do likewise. When G informed her girls do not talk their shirts off she asked, " When I am big and get boobs I can do it right?". Uh NO not right amid LAUGHTER I am sure. In my head I was thinking only for Mardi Gras LOL as I can safely say I have never myself but it is the sarcastic reply in my brain.  Where do they get this stuff? I mean I can safely say that we do not use the word bo...

One day

Image
Today, Friday #4's 1st day but the last day of the week for the rest. The official first day for the big 3 (Monday) One, not 5, nor 6 or 8 just one is a lonely and specific number. It can be good number like one love, one million or one life but bad like one chance. Today was my one day where all kids were in school and I was free to do whatever I chose. Slightly obligated and mostly interested I spent it with my mother and Aunt. I truly have the greatest aunt's alive whom drop everything if I am in need and devote much time to my family and me. I am increasingly aware of the unique gift my family is regardless of any faults we all as humans have (myself included). I digress because I simply must express the most important grateful things. #4's trek into the school world is like most would expect precarious. She is my baby and as much as I want her to grow up I want to hold on cause the end is near. I missed her today and had to fight the urge to call and check on h...

Olympics is the word

Kuchta clan (my dad's side of the family) with Mike's Dad and fiance Beverly too plus girlfriend Chris & boyfriend Steve Having 4 kids means there are 4 birthday parties for family/friends to attend and in my case 4 different times a year. In planning out having kids I always dreamed of having one in each season so they would all have their different moments. Well, I got my wish. Non of them were when I intended but they are in fact 4 times of the year. The first is July, Summer. That is a great time for parties especially when you own a pool. The next is December, Winter. A not so great time since it is chilly and close to Christmas. In the beginning I avoided the Dec holiday by having her party Thanksgiving weekend. Nowadays it gets looped with one of her recitals and then a friend party around Valentines day. Next came #3 in Fall, October. This of course lends to outdoors, bonfires and smore's. I have to be honest even with my cold nature and enjoying the warm Sum...

Mommy friends

Image
I am pretty sure I mentioned it once or twice before, I do not have many mommy friends. Ya know the ones who are trekking through life on the mommy train like I am. I have an amazing, thoughtful, faraway bestie and a cousin who may as well be a sister but that is where it ends. That is until this year. We have known each other since I first joined the local mom's group when she was an area moderator. It was via her that I met Elaine who was a short lived very close mommy friend and moved. She has a son who has a few imperfections from the "norm" of child development (different needs but like my #1 a curve ball for sure) and another chunk of love sweetie baby boy too (just happens to carry a great name which 2 men males in my home share. Even though her oldest is #4's age well it still works because my older daughter LOVES babies about as much as #4 does. Right now we are still 40ish min from each other but in my life that is a hop, skip and a jump anyway. She is st...

Here chick chick chick

Image
If only I could place a sound bite to the title of this post, cause #4 sounds so ADORABLE saying those words every day. The chicks are egg laying pets which has been long awaited. Sadly, the two little ones do lay pastel color eggs but they are the same color, an whitish easter green. They are also tiny eggs so it takes two to make one medium sized egg. But we will gladly take it. Stormy was the first to lay. She is of course #1's chicken named because at the time of her adoption it was very stormy. Her first egg was located under the wicker furniture and then soon after she discovered the duck house. Even though there are 3 nesting boxes she still insists to lay here. She is also like clockwork and does her job between 8 and 9am. If I happen to be cleaning out the pen/house at that time she will pace back and forth urging me to hurry up. Not too long after (approx 4 days) Rainy began laying also. She is #3's chicken and named assisted by big bro. The original choice was aft...

the days are numbered friends

Yes they are, 12 days in fact for the "big 3" and 16 for #4 who begins the journey of school. Wow, did I just type that, really? #4 and no more, fireball quickwitted and strong has school. Preschool it is but school for sure. #1 attended preschool like she will, many days a week but at no cost due to his therapy needs and the school district providing such. #2 went one year at this same age and #3 went just 1 day a week from Oct to May the year before K She on the other hand is at a denominational church school that #3 attended just 2 years ago. It was such an amazing experience then my hopes are high for now. One teacher is new and sweet as can be at Open House tonight. True to her whole life she was surrounded by 5 other kids, siblings plus cousin K and C too. I am not sure how much she got out of the experience as they "family" took precedence. I will say cousin K convinced her to allow the teacher to take her picture which I was unable to do first. All day she ...
