Here they all are with their beloved teachers. This year I can actually say I was far from worried about the classroom environment with regards to the adult leading them. As a parent who has survived not so great years this is a HUGE sigh of relief. The bonus of it all, #1 will have the same teacher in 5th grade too. The not so glorious part, he will have all of the same classmates too. One in particular is less appealing, but then again our God is bigger than the poor choices of young boys and this is a perfect chance for me to teach him steadfast faith. Regardless, this school year has been a success for each of my 3 school age kids.
#2 is at the top of her class, highest reading level and more with straight A's all the way. She did not make the gifted level but I feel confident that for now she is challenged and happy. #1 is continuing to succeed pushed a bit by his younger sister who maintained the straight A's where he has both A's and B's. I am perfectly proud of him, and also loving his need to be the best with regards to his siblings. #3 is another story, although doing just fine he has room for improvement. I do believe I dropped the ball a bit on this one as I have not been as diligent about working with him as I was with #1. He will level out I am sure, and still precedes his older siblings in logic and common sense hands down.
Yes, I have 3 truly bigger kids since the K year is complete. The reality of him turning 7 in less than 4 months , and #1 turning 11 in month come tomorrow is a bit of a shock to my system and yet another reminder that kids, they grow up before your eyes. Time marches on no matter what you do to hold it still.
I am faced with the fact that my points of reference for having babies and raising kids during the early stages is out of date for moms today even if some things are universal. I am likewise moving to a whole new phase in this parenting world. Whew, who knew the arrival of summer would mean so much to me?
Nevertheless, we have already started it off full of family, fun and memories. Would you have expected any less?

From you? no I wouldn't expect anything less :) I'm still reeling from the fact that i'll have on in highschool and one in kindergarten come fall. One that will be legal to learn to drive and one that has recently mastered a bicycle. Not to mention the smallest of the small going to preschool in the fall. Ugh how did we get here? Just yesterday I was 19 and having fun with friends.
