A little dab will do ya

Today was a crazy busy day and I would not have ever dreamed in all that here and there would be a moment (an hour to be exact) that meant so much. Thursdays are dance/Tae Kwon Do nights picked straight up from after school Bible club. I pack a to go dinner and I sit, sometimes learning to knit with a lady who does the same and other times I catch up on various things. Either way it is a far cry from family time. Typically I come home and we rush everyone off to pj's, brush teeth, prayers and bed. Instead, upon entering my home I was greeted by the most adorable almost 3 year old little girl who said, "That's my mommy." Like you would expect I scooped her up for snuggles but before I could even turn the corner she jumped down and attached herself to Daddy's leg like her brother already was. Daddy gave me "the look" and said he'd better sleep good tonight implying this has been his evening. Good since he has been away from them all except to put them to bed Tuesday night.
#1 and #2 love the idea of rough and tumble play with their dad so in no time flat he is surrounded, or rather his legs are anyway. #4 comes back to me, she is smart enough to know her size still counts sometimes and we laugh and tease away. She decides she wants to "slide" with me and grabs my legs. We all go around and around until BAM I remember there is a new show call mobbed on tonight about a flash mob that suprises someone. We all enjoy watching videos of flash mobs so I dive to my bed and invite the whole family too. Why not tomorrow is Friday. We snuggle together, I tease of stinky boys in my bed. It ends up with #1 and #4 with me, #2 and #3 with Daddy. I tried to snap some sweet shots of #3 with his legs around Daddy's neck in the chair and #2 in his lap.
In the middle of the show after brushing teeth the teasing began again and things were tossed across the room, a few landing smack dab in Daddy's bald spot too. #4 was priceless when she threw it left handed mind you and hit him right in the face. That aside show back on we discussed why the lady was crying from the suprise proposal and a few interjections of what women like from men they love. A bit later it was the hour of bedtime. Waiting to see if there were previews for the next one #1 in his oh so classic way said, "I wonder how long it will take the cleaning crew to pick that place up?" Hubby and I laughed out loud and I hugged my son telling him he is defintely my kid. Then he added almost unaware really of our reaction, "You know what the worst part of being there would be?...... The traffic leaving...". Another round of laughter we said goodnights but before everyone could leave he once again ignored any words the rest of us were speaking, "You know the best part of the Yogi Bear movie...The waterfall scene." Daddy asked how on Earth he got from one thing to another but I so know. I so know how my mind rambles from one thing to another like lightning striking various themes in a moments notice. The vein must be completed before he can transistion that is for sure!
Ya know I am increasingly amazed at how many times I see myself in these kids, I just pray that it is in the proud moments and not in the painful struggles. The hugs, snuggles, laughter and love was oozing out of every place in my room and I can't wait for the moment we experience it unexpectantly again!
