Let's get ready for some FOOTBALL and other stuff

Today was a very hurry, rush, stop, enjoy, RUSH, jump through hoops, stop, hurry again day. I suppose the first day after a 3 day weekend is like that but since I am still a returning back to work lady I have to pick myself back up again, shake the dirt off and keep truckin on. OF COURSE hubby was on duty since one would expect my hurdles to be 10ft instead of 2ft high. Being more than capable puts me there too. THANKFULLY G-ma was gracious enough to transport 2 out of the 4 kids to their activities even if she didn't bring them straight home to shower and bath before 8pm like I would have wished. I still am thrilled with her generosity of time.
BEFORE I could get home to start the figure out food get back out ordeal I had to catch the frog to free at home. No real surprise that all day I was doubly careful when kids looked at them to not let it jump out yet when I myself tried to catch it, it got out. I am surprised no one came running from my muffled girlish yelps as it hopped 3 places before finally landing in my trap. Ever so carefully I made my way to the car with a cup topped cup as the only means of transportation I could find. Yes, I should have planned a bit more in advance. There I see 2 women, a mother like me and her mother (white haired and all) attempted unsuccessfully to jump start one car. They discussion of how to hook the cables up made me chuckle and I deemed it necessary to help. Handing off the frog cups I took over and explained where they went wrong. Completing the job I went on my way feeling useful and good about myself. Well that and giggling that all those times of jumping my dying battery in the blue van were worth something after all. Being a mechanics daughters does pay for something.
sneaky little bugger
I managed to keep my hand on the top cup most of the drive when I made a little too sharp turn and the cup shifted a teeny bit. It must have been just enough because otu leaps the frog, and I swerve then scream or maybe it was scream then swerve. I don't know. I seem to have it all together outwardly but at some point a bug, reptile or amphibians is simply slimy, and yucky to me. Now panicking because I do not have the time to pull over and frog chase but HATE the thought of it leaping on me I put my non driving leg folded underneath me. The right leg gets moved as high on the gas pedal as possible and the FROG ends up under my legs. Pretty sure other drivers thought I was possessed or being kidnapped and could have dialed 911. yes officer I swear I am not under the influence of any drugs, its a frog that caused me to drive erratic. Sure, that will get me out of jail...right!
I call my husband knowing full well he will laugh at me in my panic and I will then move to anger in the situation but it sure seemed better than the fear I had now. At home a whole 5 minutes later I locate the silly animal who didn't budge until I practically ripped him from his safe spot. WHEW! Frog drama done I head inside to chug on in the hast of all things needing to be done.
#3, sweet little man number 3 was whisked away by G and myself. I live this delicate balance of allowing G to take part in our lives and wanting to be selfish and do the special stuff with just me. He was overjoyed and ready in the blink of an eye. First stopping to pick up the local produce we ordered, then we were on our way. Clamoring along to his sister, singing and chatting down the road we drove to a town a bit farther away than I would have liked. At first I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, he looked bored and inattentive during the explanation of the plays. Yet within a short time he was up, participating and running all around. He had the ball, he passed the ball. He was smiling and really playing the game. YES! Whew, I am so glad because 114.00 for nothing would hurt me more than a bit!
Look at how thrilled he is right there!

what is up with the goofy face?
He knew I was taking a pic too??
After receiving his jersey which clearly will not fit more than this fall but he adores (donned it right there on the field), we stopped to get his hair cut. Apparently the first time you go to a Sports clip they give you the MVP treatment which included a shampoo post cut, chair massage and neck rub too. He was in heaven my little man. She cut it a bit shorter than I would like but he is happy. I think he wanted the true boy cut like this. It fits my rugged generous thoughtful loving son. The more these boys age I see how they differ and how great God is to mold them to intricately. Sigh, geez I am such a sap!
Anyway, he jabbered on the phone to dad about his opportunities. I read in the rules that the league is an everybody has equal play time, yippee. Later if this is his thing, we will go further. For now I can't wait to see the smile on his face when he plays his sport. The one no one else plays (in our little family). Well that and see him play his cousin in a month or so too. Those boys are gonna crack me up together!
