Daddy's day crisis makes for memories
Today is a Father's day to remember. This morning #2 carrying #4 arrive in my room bright and early at 6am. Apparently littlest who had spent the night for the 5th day in a row in her brother's room fell out of his bed. The sweet big sis she is came to rescue her from big brother who try as he might is less than nurturing. She deposited her to my car with as few words as possible then promptly headed back to her room to sleep. Good for her bad for me. Being a day for dad's I took one for the team and headed to shower with my sidekick. Once everyone was up we made "rollups" (cinnamon rolls), bacon and coffee. We even saved one of each for G next door, delivering it not so smoothly before church.
After church were to head for a cozy brunch at Brother and SIL house. But instead of a pleasant uneventful ride hubby informed me we had to detour to pick up other Brother, SIL and nephew who had hit a deer. There is one thing that is for sure with the Colbert clan, and that is they can make anything into a big joke. This remained the same because the banter was certainly priceless. Host brother stopped on his way home too and it was a big party for about 15 minutes. Once the tow truck arrived we were again on our way to the original event. 3 hours later at home we surprised Daddy with his pinterest inspired gifts, (well all but one picture that is). Yesterday he went to a scheduled massage as the other part of his present. Low key but memorable works just fine these days for sure.
Here's to many more enjoyable days with this fantastic family!
