Transition time AGAIN this time for girls

In the last few months I can safely say I have been noticing some changes in my little girl. I guess I can't call her so little in light of the topic of transition. Gone are the days when she calls me momma, and needs me to help her cut her food or get dressed. Yet there are so many little things she does still do. She will curl up in my lap and hold my hand. She looks to me for advice (mostly), giggles and snuggles, wrestles with Daddy, and believes in Santa/tooth fairy etc. I guess this is how it is with preteen life. Kids this age very much are still young but teetering ever so carefully to the beyond. I struggle remembering that she is only 9 at times especially in the summer when she hangs out with 10/near 11 year old niece and 11/near 12 year old son. Well that and she just seems to move through phases at the same time as her brother. He a bit behind and her a bit ahead. Naive and all I love my sweet, beautiful, athletic All American girl.
I know its kinda dark but you can see what I mean
Anyway, all that jibber, jabber to say starter bra here she comes. When I reached around to hug her before bed and my arm ran across her chest I knew the suspicions were dead right.  Her leotard showed the forming buds, and she herself confirmed that things were happening. As a child I hated the idea of a bra and refused to wear it, along with deodorant too. Yet, this child of mine replied matter of fact like "Sure." with the biggest excited smile I have seen lately. Other moms have relayed stories of periods happening about a year after the buds came which I pray isn't quite right. Hubby and I are NOT prepared for that!
The other change is the seemingly blond moments. By this I mean she is asking (which she pronounces axing, cracks me up) what zillions of words mean. Not words like menagerie or plethora but like practically and assuming. While I am thrilled to have her interest to understand them clearly it is like I have another 2 or 3 year around saying "what's that?" all the time. My niece even remarked about her questions too. I suppose in all the research I have done lately in raising kids I did learn that the increase in hormones during puberty impairs the brains ability to function normally. Maybe this is the reason I sure don't know. All I do know is whoa if #1 does start this at the same time. He has been doing so well demonstrating a greater maturity intermittently. One can hope and pray for anything they chose so don't knock it.
