Desires of the heart *Update at the bottom*
My heart desires so many things. Yet the world is not perfect, or an easy path to all that we want.
Trust in the LORD and do good;Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. Psalm 37:3-5
That verse doesn't mean if I have faith God will do what I want, but in my faith God will change my heart to mirror his.
I want to take my kids to Disney next year. #4 LOVES Mickey Mouse, #2 is still interested enough in Princess', #3 is still young enough to let his inner little boy out, and #1 in the last bit of innocent place because the world is robbing it from him. I want to get my husband the truck he had when we first got married and has never had since because of the life I wanted to lead. (kids right away, finishing school etc). I need a new/newer very reliable family vehicle in the coming year as well. All these things are attainable if I was only considering my household. But I am not. I have to consider/supply for two other people who don't want me to,yet both myself and them have allowed our lives to be wrapped together as one. I didn't stop to pray or be led when I walked down this road, instead my emotions and ever present need to "take care" of said people got me here.
Now I sit at the moment of consequences of choices wrongly made and it hurts. Saving (which is really to take care of what I shouldn't have to) not knowing if vacation will actually come is such a hard choice. I feel my time with these kids dwindling year by year. Yet this is one more time when I KNOW that God is saying "STOP, you don't have to figure it out. Give it to me and do what I speak." He will redeem my sin IE mistakes. The vehicle must be first and is within reach.
I wrote this post on December 3rd and how amazing what such a short time will change. We need only a small deposit for Disney with NO, yes ZERO money lost if the funds don't all come together within 45 days of our travel. We are going in Sept so plenty of time to allow God to work. God is sooo good, and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for 2011!
Merry Christmas everyone, and a blessed New Year too!!
