S P E L L I N G Bee and Joey out takes

#2 participated in her first ever spelling bee. She was motivated (no surprise) and we practiced over the weekend and the last 2 days too. Each word she answered correctly gave us a smile and shy grin. There are approx 100 kids in the grade level that tried out and 30 were taken from those. In the end she was landed 10th place which didn't give her an individual ribbon but is worth bragging about! Once again she demonstrates the nickname I gave her, all American girl!
On the way home from school #1 shared a bit of priceless humor. A bit of info is that I decided to take the kids home early so hubby wouldn't have to pick them up. As we left #3's school I noticed it was basically the time that hubby gets off work. Here is the conversation:
NO! He screamed. No pictures with Dad.
Me, "We better hurry otherwise your Dad will beat us home."
#1, "Why?"
Me, "Because he is leaving work now and it takes us the same amount of time."
#1 in his best narrator voice, "Who will win? Find out next time on the Colbert reality show."
Me cracking up, "That was pretty good."
#1, "We should have a reality show. Our life is pretty interesting."
Me previously unaware of #1 understanding what a reality show is, "That is very true #1."

I absolutely love my kids and their unique personalities that increase more and more each day. I hope I can remember this when they are driving me crazy though:)
